Spring Clean Your Brand: A Checklist for a Fresh Start

Spring is in the air (or hopefully it will be once all the snow melts), and you know what that means - it’s time for a little spring cleaning!

We tend to focus on decluttering and cleaning our physical spaces - our homes and our offices - but this is also the perfect time to do a little business cleanup in the way of a Brand check-in. So grab that virtual mop and bucket, and let’s dive into creating a checklist for that much-needed brand audit.

Brand Image - Does it still resonate with you?

First things first, take a moment to gaze at your brand.

Does it still feel like “you”?

Has your brand evolved along with you and your business?

Assess your logo, colors, fonts, and overall aesthetic - are they still in sync with your vibe and your target audience?

Remember that your brand image is your business’s first impression so it needs to truly represent who you are now, what your business stands for, and what you offer.

Website - Does it need to be refreshed?

Now onto the digital face of your business: your website:

Is it a bit dusty and outdated?

Check if your content is current, and your design is cohesive with the rest of your brand image and user experience enjoyable.

Your website can often be one of the first interactions people have with your brand, so ensure that leaves a good lasting impression and that it behaves as more than just a portfolio site.

Content - Do you have updated brand photos, headshots, video content, and more?

There is so much power in visuals! It's time to review your images.

Are they overused or do they still reflect your brand?

When was the last time you updated your content library?

Do the videos and images you currently have still reflect your messaging and what you offer?

People gravitate to people - they love to see the face behind the brand, the activities that make your business and offerings what they are. Creating fresh engaging content can breathe new life into your online presence.

Messaging - Does the copy speak to your current audience?

Put on your word wizard hat on and dive into your messaging.

Be honest,

Does your brand speak the language of your current target audience?

Do you know how to reach your audience?

Is your brand currently reaching the right audience?

Check if you messaging is still relevant and resonates with your target audience.

Tweak those taglines and spruce up your your messaging, because its truly all about connecting with your audience on a personal level.

Social Media - Do you have content pillars and are they in alignment with your brand?

Take a scroll through your social media kingdom.

Do you have distinct content pillars to guide your content?

Are your content pillars aligned with your brand values?

Are you targeting the right audience with your content?

Social media is a dynamic landscape so make sure you have plan and are using your platforms to the best of their abilities. Keep your content fresh, engaging, and authentic to your brand identity.
